Greetings and Salutations! I’m Stephen Mayer and I’m pleased to partner with you at The Master’s Christian Academy in its inaugural year, formally the Warriors Christian Academy. With years of experience in youth ministry and education, I strive to strengthen students academically and spiritually. This focus helps to develop within each child an understanding of God’s purpose in their life now, and in their eternal life. It also reveals to them the purpose and application for their learning. My instructional approaches enhance integration of this focus into all my subjects nurturing growth of mind and spirit.

Experience
- This is my first year at The Master’s Christian Academy, but I was part of Warriors Christian Academy last year.
- I have been involved in youth ministry and teaching since 1978.
Family and Personal Life
- Born in 1955 during the Eisenhower Presidency, I was spared from the Vietnam draft when President Nixon stopped it in 1973. Raised in a Christian home, I was taught loyalty to God, country, and fellow man.
- Skeet shooter by 16, Eagle Scout before 18.
- I have had numerous near-death experiences, including an anaphylactic reaction, near-drownings, car accidents, and more. Each of these instances has strengthened my faith and reliance on God’s presence and protection.

Teaching Philosophy
- I believe in fostering both academic excellence and spiritual growth in my students. My goal is to help each student understand and appreciate the Lord’s blessings and grace and to apply themselves fully to achieve their academic goals. I pray that this year will be a fundamental period of growth for each student, molding them into strong Christian leaders.
Vision for the School Year
- My goal for this year is to have each student in my class better understand the Lord’s blessings and grace and to apply themselves fully to achieve their academic goals. I believe that in the name of Jesus, this will be a fundamental year for each of these kids, and I pray that we will all work together to mold them into strong Christian leaders.

Mr. Cruz
Hello, I’m Christopher Cruz, and I’m thrilled to begin my second year at The Master’s Christian Academy. After teaching elementary students in the ACE learning center last year, I’m excited to now guide middle and high school students for the 2024-2025 school year. I am passionate about fostering both academic excellence and spiritual growth, helping my students discover and follow God’s path for their lives. With a love for comic books, wrestling, theater, and dance, I strive to create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment where I can build strong personal relationships with each of my students.

- Last year, I taught in the ACE learning center for elementary school students. This year, I am excited to be teaching in the ACE learning center for middle and high school students at The Master’s Christian Academy (MCA).
Family and Personal Life
- I am married to my wonderful wife, Jennifer Cruz, who is the MCA PTF President. We have three children: Cayden, Kendall, and Ashlyn.
- I am a big fan of comic books and wrestling, and I consider myself a kid at heart. Theater and dance played a significant role in my adolescence, and I still hold a special place in my heart for the arts.

Mr. Parks
Hello, I’m Mike Parks, and I am thrilled to continue teaching mathematics at The Master’s Christian Academy. Having joined the school last year for the final trimester, I am excited to build on the relationships and progress we made.

- BS in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Math and Business (Graduated in 1993)
Experience
- Before I started teaching, I spent over three years tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students in mathematics, helping them to build confidence and improve their skills.
- I have over 25 years of experience working on high-end microprocessor and System on Chip (SoC) projects for companies such as AMD, IBM, and Qualcomm.
Family and Personal Life
- I was born and raised in Austin in a single-parent home with three brothers and a sister. I have been a Christian since I was baptized at 13 and was raised in a Christian family. I have been married to my wonderful wife, Penny, for 34 years. We have two grown sons—one is in sales, and the other is a software engineer. I love spending time with my family, scuba diving, riding my Harley, going to the gym, visiting the beach, or hiking in the mountains.
- I have volunteered for various groups, including: Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Texas Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief, Meals on Wheels, and Prison Ministry.

Sensei Borden
Hello, I’m Kassidy Borden. I’m excited to begin my journey as an assistant teacher in the K-5 classroom at The Master’s Christian Academy. Although this is my first year assisting in a classroom, I have been an assistant instructor in martial arts since 2019. My extensive training and experience in managing a dojo have equipped me with valuable skills for creating an engaging and orderly classroom environment. I am passionate about working with children and am dedicated to supporting their academic and spiritual growth.

- Although this is my first year assisting in the classroom, I have been an assistant instructor in martial arts with continued instructor training since 2019.
- The skills I’ve developed in dojo floor management translates very well to managing and engaging a classroom environment.
Family and Personal Life
- I have one sister and enjoy spending time with my two dogs and one cat. I love crafting, and my favorite color is purple. Working with children is a passion of mine, and I have a sweet spot for brownies.
